Laser Cutting

Recently in class, we've been working with our laser cutter. Laser cutters work by using a high powered laser beam to cut or an engrave a surface. This machine is controlled by computer. In this class, we used the computer program Google SketchUp to design our idea for the laser cutter. After the design was complete, we used AutoCAD to give direct instruction to the laser cutter. We had to input certain information for the laser cutter to work properly like the depth of the wood and the action it was performing (cutting versus engraving).
